What is a landscape site plan?

Site plans provide the existing conditions of a property. We can provide very basic site plans consisting of just the property boundary and the building footprint, or you can customize your plan to include any of the following options: Exterior Building Footprint, Windows/Doors, Flatwork, Hardscape, Softscape, Gate/Fence/Wall Heights, Fence and Post Locations, Windowsill Heights, Lights and Outlets, Hosebibs, Backflow, Downspouts, Gas/Electric, Tree Caliper, Existing Swimming Pool, Tree Locations, Approx. Tree Canopy, Spot Elevations, Roof Overhang, Accessory Buildings, Parking Lot, Property Boundary, Photos.

What sort of devices do you use for your site plans?

Altimeter - Used to calculate the variations in height throughout the property known as spot elevations. They do not create topographic surveys, rather, they define heights for design purposes.

Scanners - We work with a number of lidar scanners to collect point cloud data during our site visits.

Lasers - Laser tapes can be a vital tool to verifying dimensions while on site.

Tape - Traditional means of measuring still serve a purpose in today's property measurements.

Why is this different from a survey?

As surveys are very important to the design process. A survey doesn’t give you existing details in the same way DIMENSIONS does. DIMENSIONS looks for things that affect the design process and places site components based on the needs of the designer. As designers need to create paths, planting areas, and clever aspects to a site, our plan is utilized to better help with ones creation.
